The New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council (NOCDC) is a nonprofit membership organization that arranges professional appointments and cultural activities for approximately 500 international leaders sent to Louisiana each year from the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program and other government and private professional exchanges.
NOCDC is part of a nationwide network of approximately 90 councils that collaborate with Global Ties U.S. and the U.S. Department of State to promote mutual understanding between Americans and their foreign counterparts through the practice of citizen diplomacy.
The New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council is a membership organization that offers opportunities to its members to interact with current and emerging international leaders through a variety of membership events, including receptions, cooking demonstrations, film screenings, home hospitality, and more. Membership opportunities exist for the individual, family, and corporate memberships.

The New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council (NOCDC) is a non-profit organization that arranges professional appointments and cultural excursions for nearly 450 international visitors sent to New Orleans annually by the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program and other government and private agencies. We are a dynamic, multi-faceted, internationally-focused organization promoting global diplomacy “one handshake at a time.”
We are seeking an Executive Director who will be responsible for overseeing a small staff and volunteers and who will work closely with our board to ensure that we continue to operate efficiently and effectively to best promote our mission and increase our visibility. You will be the face of our organization, working closely with government officials, and local business and civic leaders. Our organization is a close-knit group that places high value on collaboration, recognition, communication, and following through with plans and details. In order to be most effective, candidates should have experience with grant writing, event planning, bookkeeping, marketing and fundraising. Applicants should have a courteous and tactful demeanor, be sensitive to other cultures, and possess exceptional written, communication, organizational, and computer skills (Microsoft Office). A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years’ work experience required. Experience with international businesses and/or organizations is a plus.
