Global Ties U.S. is recruiting U.S. citizens ages 18-29 to serve as Youth Ambassadors at the U.S. Pavilion. Youth Ambassadors serve as guides and cultural representatives of the United States and its territories to millions of Expo visitors.
The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) member states have voted and confirmed the one-year postponement of Expo 2020 Dubai. While maintaining the original Expo 2020 name, it will now run from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022 to allow all participants to safely navigate the impact of COVID-19.
What to Expect: Youth Ambassadors will welcome and interact daily with international visitors. They will act as representatives of the U.S. and assist in organizing and executing events at the U.S. Pavilion.
Who We Are Looking For: Young people who want to represent the U.S. and who are ideally multilingual in English and one of the following languages: Arabic, Mandarin, Farsi, Hindi, Russian, and Urdu. Additional language skills in Bengali, French, or Spanish may also be useful. Language abilities are an asset, but not required in order to apply to become a Youth Ambassador.
Expo 2020 Dubai is the first World’s Fair held in the Middle East. Through the 192 countries hosting pavilions, Expo 2020 Dubai will unveil the inventions, ideas, and inspirations that have the potential to change the future. Expo's theme, "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," is the belief that innovation and progress are the result of people and ideas coming together in new and unique ways.
The United Arab Emirates projects 70 percent of attendees will be international visitors, the highest proportion in Expo history. Expo coincides with the UAE’s 50th anniversary in 2021. Over the past 50 years, the UAE has impressed the world with its rapid growth and amazing achievements. Expo 2020 Dubai wants to motivate people to carry that innovative spirit forward.
